How to Reset Imou NVR Password – Imou is a pretty new player in the surveillance world, but I admit this brand is very intuitive and offers a wide array of products. I recently used this brand for my personal project and was surprised by how easy it was to install and manage.
This article will cover how to reset the Imou NVR1108HS series but may be applicable to other series.
How to Reset Imou NVR Password
Unlike other CCTV producers which provide applications or services to reset passwords, Imou doesn’t provide any application to reset passwords. If you forget your password, you should reset it manually using Jumper.
To reset follow this instruction:

- Turn off the NVR then open the NVR cover to expose the board inside the NVR.
- Look for a reset pin in the mainboard. (See image below).

Imou NVR NVR1108HS Series Reset Pin Location. - Short-circuit the reset pin by holding it with metal ten connect the adaptor to the NVR.
Hard reset NVR NVR1108HS Series Short Circuit Reset Pin (Click to Zoom) - Wait for about 15 seconds until you hear a long beep then release.
- Your NVR will restart, wait until finish rebooting.
Imou NVR Rebooting (Click to Zoom) - After restarting, you will be prompted with password recovery options. Change your password and recovery options as you see fit.
